Medical marijuana has been proven to be an effective medicine in treating a large amount of disease, but it is also the most controversial drug used. There are physicians that believe the prescribing of medical marijuana will provide their patients the most beneficial treatment available. There are other physician’s that do not believe medical marijuana has any medicinal value.
Then there is the state and federal officials that argue, whether the use of medical marijuana is legal at all for physicians to prescribe. The proof that this is a viable medication for many patients is in the scientific studies that researchers have conducted for over 30 years, but there are still medical experts and lawmakers that do not want to believe medical marijuana is an option that should be available for patients. The drug companies also have a hand in keeping medical marijuana unavailable to patients with their influence on the medical community and lawmakers.
