Medical Marijuana and Night Sweats |
Night sweats are one of the conditions that affect many chemotherapy patients and can also be a side effect of many different types of medication. Persistent night sweats can interrupt sleep patterns and the performance of immune system functions. In a study conducted by the University of Toronto included four participants with advanced stages of cancer that had night sweats as one of their symptoms once treated with a synthetic derivative all four of the patients reported an improvement in the symptoms and the night sweats within 48 hours.
Within a two week period of treatment the night sweats had decreased by approximately 75 percent. No serious side effects were present during the use of the synthetic marijuana derivative. There have been other studies done that have also proved that the use of medical marijuana can decrease night sweats, whether it is from cancer or the use of medication that promotes the night sweats.
