Skin cancer is a malignant growth on the skin that can have many causes and the most common are basal cell cancer, melanoma and squamous cell cancer.
A study that was conducted in Spain concluded that skin cancer is one of the most common malignancies in humans and while there is treatment therapies the success of cannabinoid therapy may constitute an alternative therapy. The researchers believe that while this is a viable treatment alternative that worked well in laboratory mice it needs further testing.
The traditional treatments that are used are cryotherapy and topical chemotherapy, which also have side effects like nausea, weight loss, pain and other symptoms that medical marijuana can also help to relieve. Studies have proven that medical marijuana is able to be an effective treatment for nausea, pain and to help patients gain weight, without the side effects of conventional medications that would be prescribed.
