There have been some studies conducted with the use of medical marijuana to treat numerous medical conditions, with the use of a vaporizer to smoke the marijuana. One of the studies that focused on the use of a vaporizer to deliver the active properties in marijuana to the body was conducted by researchers at UCSF. The team of researchers enrolled eighteen individuals as inpatients at the General Clinical Research Center at San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center for six days. During the six days the participants were monitored while using medical marijuana delivered by a vaporizer. The study findings were published in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
The participants in the study stated they had the same amount of a high and pain relief from the marijuana whether it was smoked in a vaporizer or smoked in the regular method. The participants when asked, many stated they preferred the vaporizer to smoking the marijuana in the other method.
